Part of LSA’s Effort to Move Priorities for People and the Land Forward at the State Level

ESKO, Minn. — Land Stewardship Action issued the following statement announcing its endorsement of Pete Radosevich for MN State House District 11A.
“We are proud to support Pete in his campaign to represent the people of House District 11A. We share a common vision for vibrant, growing rural communities and sustainable agricultural practices. If elected, we look forward to working with him to offer solutions at the state level,” stated Emily Minge, Political Organizer for LSA. “This year, LSA aims to build participation and engagement in all levels of government. We know and have seen how important state level policies are in creating the farm and food system we need for all Minnesotans.”
Pete Radosevich is a small business owner, the former owner of Eskomo Pizza Pies in Esko and the current publisher of the Pine Knot News, and he is a lawyer who has practiced in Carlton County for over 22 years.
Pete shared that he’s running “because I believe the government exists to solve our collective problems. I believe taxes are inevitable and necessary, so they must be applied fairly and reasonably and for the benefit of all people. Too many elected leaders seem to govern only for the benefit of their political party. They seem to be against anything the other party presents, even if it’s good for their constituents. That’s no way to govern. The ‘winner-takes-all’ approach has become ‘everybody loses except a few’. I intend to change that. As the 11A representative, I’ll look out for all the people of the district.”
When asked what this endorsement means to him, he said, “endorsement by Land Stewardship Action is an honor that shows our continued commitment to healthy communities and local, sustainable farming and making rural Carlton County and the rest of 11A a great place to live and raise our families. I won’t let you down.”
To earn Land Stewardship Action’s endorsement, Pete attended LSA’s local candidate forum to answer questions from the public, completed a state level candidate questionnaire, and cleared an internal vetting process with LSA’s Political Committee and Board of Directors.
This year, leading up to the fall elections, Land Stewardship Action is focusing on engaging members, supporting candidates, and building power at local and state levels of government. This is a direct response to feedback from those in LSA’s base, as they feel directly impacted by the funding and resources that the State House and Senate allocate for our food systems and our rural communities.
